I saw that one of my favourite craft inspirations, Meg Allen Cole put up a craft video yesterday on her Nest blog for a paper retro orb tree topper, so had to have a go making one for myself.
I've been having several failed attempts at making stars or tree toppers for the tops of my Christmas trees so I thought this might be the answer.
It involves drawing 10 circles using a cd, cutting 8 slots around the edges like cutting up a pizza and scrolling the flaps around a pencil tip before glueing them into points....but if you want to see how it's made with FAR better instructions, check out Meg's video:
It was good fun to make and another thing I did in front of the telly whilst watching Christmas shows with Melchett and Goth Child - this time it was the new Family Guy Christmas episode, which was every kind of wrong imaginable but still hilariously funny and amazingly quite thought-provoking about Christmas over-consumption.
Doing Christmas too large was not something I could be accused with my multi-coloured-scrolly-paper-star-tree-topper-like-thingy.....I think it's a bit diddy actually:
I might make a bigger one next year.
