Right, this is possibly my last blog post for about a week as we're moving next Wednesday and I'm not sure:
a) how I'll find the time to blog when I'm packing/unpacking/putting up curtain rods,
b) when we'll be losing the internet/regaining the internet.
Admittedly if I get my head around it I could post the occasional picture update for you, but I'm not promising anything (I'm supposed to be clearing out and packing the larder as we speak).
For those asking, yes we've now sold the Cottage and after a worried couple of days whilst the money remaining after we cleared our UK mortgage flew around in the ether between our UK bank and US bank, it has now arrived in our account safe and sound and is serving as our deposit on the new house.
We need a name for the new house...it's not the world's brownest house like our current rented home has been for the last year and 4 months.....the kids have come up with something that sounds like 'Home': Wenlock House and I quite like that, totally incongruous with the type of Tuscan/Santa Barbara style architecture it is....but who cares. I just need to find out Phoenix rules for calling your house a name now...
The past few months have been mega stressful - not being in control of all the details of selling up in the UK and having to rest in the hands of solicitors (well, maybe not rest, the number of 'phone calls we've had to make in the middle of our night to get them to do stuff) and selling the Cottage without being able to say goodbye to it :( I'm sure eventually I'll be just as happy in our new home it just feels that I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel yet.....which is very strange living in permanently sunny Phoenix (it's 81 degrees F/ 27 C today...don't you just hate me?)
But anyway, I'll be back again after about a week - though Spring Break starts tomorrow (think half term hols and Easter hols all rolled into 2 weeks)...so I could be pretty busy unpacking, decorating and getting started on some DIY to make 'our new house' into a new home.
In the meantime here's some taster pics to show you why we bought it:
