Yeah, I know fine well that the best way to get back into a good habit is to do something consistently for 30 days...
And I know that the best way to get over writer's block is to just write...
But you see I have the attention span of a gnat.
Is that how you spell 'gnat'?
*goes off to check dictionary.com*
*whilst there thinks about tweetdeck to see if anything more's happened in the world of hackgate......oh it has......blimey, will they stop at nothing?*
*hmmmm I wonder if we've got any nice biscuits in....*
*says in a Sponge Bob Square Pants narrator's voice "two hours later"....*
Where was I?
I'm sure I've told you before about one of my big problems with blogging is my in-built "but it must be perfect or its not worth doing" voice. I'm having that trouble getting used to google+ at the moment too. I've signed up to google+ and started using it and had some "oooooooh it can do that!" moments and I think it's going to be big......but I'm aware that for my sanity's sake, I need to decide how I'm going to use each of my social media platforms.
For example, there's this blog, www.fanbloomingtastic.com. When I manage it, I like blogging. I say too much, I waffle, I am the mistress of stream of consciousness....but when I hit the 'publish' button it gives me a sense of enormous well-being.....
*oooh Park Life.......goes off to what the videos....who's that gut lord marching?*
*Phil Daniels is in that video....he used to be in Eastenders.....blimey I haven't watched today's Eastenders yet*
*goes to watch Eastenders*.
Ooops I got sidetracked again, didn't I?
Then I've got www.absobloominglutely.tumblr.com. That's my Tumblr blog, meant to be more one-off photos or Instagram postings and things I'd seen that I liked than this wordy one.
But that's also what I sort of use Twitter for. I love Twitter. I love it's simplicity. I love the discipline of trying to keep tweets to just one and under 140 characters. I love getting updated on the latest news and views from the UK there and seeing what fellow burlesquers or crafters are doing around the world.
Then there's Myspace....to be honest that's just a holding and re-directing page for those interested in Tempest the performer. And there's Facebook......boooooooo.....I've never really liked Facebook, I've left it twice, but that's where lots of burlesquers post stuff about events and what they're packing/where they're meeting etc etc. I can't see many of them leaving their beloved Facebook.....just like some burlesquers I know still use Yahoo! Groups as their weapons of mass socialising. Deary me.
This is yet another post that's completely gone off on a tangent isn't it? See what I mean, I'm hopeless. I have the brain of a kitten in a house of mirrors.... Oooh talking of mirrors, look what I bought earlier, Crayola Window Crayons!
And look what you can do with them:
And this:
And this:
What was I talking about? Oh yeah. Blogging, it's tough. Staying on track is even tougher. And deciding and sticking to thought out purposes for various social media platforms that's toughererest of all.
*goes to get another biscuit......*
I'll see you tomorrow, possibly....I might make more sense then. Probably not....oooh, shiny thing!
*hits 'publish' button....smiles*
