So I told you the other day* about the 'fake' photos I'm assembling to go up in the 'Trophy Room' (guest loo/restroom). Well in addition to frantic curtain making, rejigging the front room and getting the house ready for a big 'sort of' housewarming party for 25 friends and families who helped us settle in these past 2 years........I've been doing some more pics in spare moments.
Oh and I've also been getting all the things out of the way in preparation for 'Fall Break' (sort of a half term, except with our school year being in 4 quarters not the British 3 terms, it's actually the end of the 1st quarter. I can't believe the kids have been at school for 11 weeks already).
Oh AND I've been dealing with the ongoing saga of the itty bitty bit of piping leaking in our sprinkler system when we first called our handymen in 11 visits ago, which has mushroomed into said 11 visits (they're back this morning for number 12) and the complete replacement of the valve manifolds and valves....and piping......and stop tap......as they've managed to break most of these along the way during each "it's fixed now, you shouldn't have any more trouble".
Yeah, excuse me if I fail to believe anything they say to me ever again. This is the job that when they turned up on Day 1 they told me "oh that's a simple replacement of a broken piece of pipe" and they reckon they've fixed over 6 times now (I've lost count). Those of you unfortunate enough to be following my twitter have had blow by blow rants from me about this......
But aaaaaaaaaaaaaaanyway.....you don't want to hear moans, you want to see pics, don't you?
OK, here's some more.
The frame Mr Devyne found in a sale has 21 spaces for pics so I'm filling it with "Some real, some almost real, and some complete fakes", so I'll include some of the reals and almost reals with the fakes here for you to guess about. I don't kid myself that you're going to have much of a hard time spotting the fakes, as you have the benefit of seeing them on a big screen not 4x6 behind glass.....that and me 'photoshopping' them without any decent software ;)
Oh, just one more thing (call me the Columbo of blogging), in a moment of madness I also decided that for October I'm going to be devoting Fanbloomingtastic and its sister tumblr account Absobloominglutely to '31 Days of Burlesque', as I haven't blogged about burlesque in ages, BurlyCon is coming and the New York Burlesque Festival.....but I'll tell you more about that tomorrow.
*if you ever want to totally confuse an American, say something was "just the other day" - it's not a phrase they use at all (it means some time in the recent past dear Colonial friends). Mind you, they get their own back with overuse of "back in the day" by which they mean a time a long time ago or sometimes in their childhood. Must add this to my UK v US words list!
