What happens when life gets in the way....

 

I'm a bit all over the place at the moment. I'm ok but befuddled. Discombobulated with no recombobulation zone (yes, these really exist) to regain my combobulation.....shall I shut up now? Yes, I probably should.

I will pull myself back together. I have a whole backlog of blog posts to publish.

I blame:

• not yet being fully organised for a year of weekly sewing challenges but having to get on with it (though I'm nearly sorted......two of the blog posts coming are about this),
• having a 44th birthday in the middle of everything,
• preparing for my annual film fest of Oscar nominated movies (the full list came out this morning)
• and last night I got a 'phone call from Mr D. just before paramedics took him off a plane in Chicago and rushed him to the nearest hospital with suspected kidney stones.

I've just heard from him - he's now been discharged. He has a 3mm kidney stone. Last night he had to have several doses of morphine that barely touched the writhing, excrutiating pain before they gave him some other kind of medication that helped somewhat. He doesn't know what it was, he was pretty out of it. He was due to be flying onto Minnesota today.....he's not, he's trying to book at least one extra night in a hotel in Chicago to see if the pain will subside somewhat before he even attempts to take a 3.5 hour flight home to us....the flight crew had to move passengers around on yesterday's flight so they could lie him down, he obviously doesn't want to go through that again.

So anyway, watch this space is my message. My posts might be a little sporadic but there's lots of good stuff on the way if you can just bear with me. Plus you might want to join me for Tempest's Watching the Oscars 2012 Watchalong (like I did with last year's Oscars)......I've just worked out that out of the 9 movies nominated for Best Picture, I haven't seen one yet. I had a seriously bad year watching films last year! It has however been pointed out to me by my friend Paula that I did get dragged along to see Twiglet: Breaking Dawn Part 1....which honestly just rubs salt into my poor movie-watching wounds ;)
