Me Made Stuff worn: UK/USA day dress (proper title the '2 Nations Joined By A Common Thread' dress) made for Sew Weekly Accessorise Challenge based on Butterick 4443. Lots more pics and details of the make here. Also made a hairflower to match from wire edged red glitter ribbon, green felt and lime embroidery thread:
Non Me Made Stuff worn: Personalised name necklace by Clutterfly (2009 but they still make them), red satin kitten heels from Barratts (around 1997), 8 thin silver bangles probably from Accessorize.
Sew Weekly Challenge this week: Inspired by an old family photo, but not exactly one of MY family....
What I'm making: a tie-dye print maxi dress FINISHED! Wey Hey! Now contemplating making a matching floppy sunhat, 70's stylee. We'll see.
Things To Do Today (other than sewing): Bit of volunteering at school with Art Masterpiece, then it's charity shop (thrift store) diving day for any classic bits of fabric for the next few Sew Weekly challenges.....in particular looking for a crown and some ermine for the Diamond Jubilee challenge.....only joking.....or am I?
Song I sang along to too loudly during day: Dame Shirley Bassey - I'd Like To Hate Myself In The (boomp boomp) Morning (you need to watch to get the boomp boomp reference; she is the tops!)
TV I watched during the day: Nearly through with Season 3 of my Whitechapel marathon now, so need to catch up on EastEnders, the last time I watched Phil had just thrown Shirl out (booooo Ben)
Thoughts about outfit after wearing for the day: this was one of the first sewing projects I ever started.....I just had a long gap in the middle before completing it. The waist is slightly too high and the straps slightly too far apart but when I don't mind standing out in a crowd it's great to wear. The bright colours make me happy :)
Check out what other people involved in Me Made May '12 on the MMM12 Flickr group
Oh, and for the MMMay'12 Flickr Group, we had an extra challenge of taking a photo of us in our own made clothes eating/cooking/drinking.....so here's me having a special breakfast, my favourite Dutch Apple Bagel from Einstein Bros Bagels, toasted, buttered and with 2 slices of bacon.....yum. And drinking an Iced Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks - MARRIAGE & EQUALITY FOR ALL!
