Hellooooo! How are you?
Would you like a cup of tea? This might be a long (but worth it) post.
I was going to say how nice it is that Spring seems to be emerging, but that's possibly only here in Arizona. Although I heard that it was nice and sunny in the UK too yesterday. This is what my morning walk in Shropshire used to look like at this time of year:
Ah Shropshire, how I miss you dearly.
(Sorry Wisconsin, Minnesota and elsewhere covered in snowdrifts.... One of my favourite shows on tv at the moments is Baggage Battles (Travel channel, Wednesday nights). It's mainly because of the wonderful characters on it, Sally, Laurence and Billy especially. They're in Minnesota right now, and Sally tweeted this and other snowy photos yesterday....hope they get home to California ok).
Sorry, as you can see today I'm easily distra....
Concentrate Tempest, concentrate! Luca Brasi you're not helping looking all cute there!
OK, to business. There's lots of excitement from sewcialists around the world (well UK, USA, Canada and New Zealand so far) about the Bowie Sew Along. And some people have either finished or made huge strides in their Bowie-inspired projects.
Check out Lee's post on The Slow Steady about her Bowie jacket progress....
She's doing some absolutely stirling work but it's getting her a bit frustrated....why not pop over to her blog and cheer her on? I am seriously impressed, the finished jacket is going to look fantastic.
Meanwhile Leila on the Three Dresses Project is putting the rest of us procrastinators and easily distracted (insert picture of cat being cute here :p) to shame by, I think, being the first to finish a Bowie Sew Along item....and she's promising more to come!
Check out her Let's Dance Bowie/80s inspired geometric, houndstooth glory t-shirt:
The full post about the make is over on her blog Three Dresses Project:
But that pic is one she's posted on the Bowie Sew Along Flickr group, talking of which..... (you can't tell I used to work in local radio at all can you?)....
Flickr Bowie Sew Along Group
For those of you who wanted a Bowie Sew Along Flickr group to post progress pics, finished object pics and to chat, get support etc etc.....it's now open. If you want to see Leila singing in her Bowie-inspired t-shirt, you should check it out.
You can also get a glimpse of what I'm working on this week and next week...here's this week's project:
You'll just have to get yourself across to the Bowie Sew Along Flickr group to see next week's.
I know. I'm such a tease.
And if you want to join in or see any of the discussions, you'll need to join.
So before that cup of tea goes cold, why not pop across to Flickr and join our Bowie Sew Along group? There's only 3 of us there at the moment and if you don't get there quick we'll hog the best imaginary sofas and load up the imaginary jukebox with songs only we like! (You think I'm joking, I'm not).
But don't worry, for those of you who told me on Twitter at the weekend you don't want to join another thing, everything you need to know and lots of lovely pics will still be available here on Fanbloomingtastic. The Flickr group is just an added extra for those who want to hangout in our virtual clubhouse.
Talking of songs on the jukebox....(I told you, I used to work in local radio, segways are us)
....I've made you a playlist to sew along to, or for those of you not sewing, to dance along to.....you lot don't have scissors in your hands. I do not endorse dancing with scissors. I am an almost responsible Aunty Tempest.
I couldn't really start it with anything other than Fashion could I? I'll have more playlists for you each week throughout March....I might stick to more hit singles next week if you want a singalong. This week is a bit ecletic. I make no apologies :)
Sew on!

I hope you've enjoyed looking around my blog. Why not subscribe so you never have to miss out on my mad ramblings? And why not +1/like/tweet/share some of the posts with your friends and followers? Thank you!
