What could you have made? Anything you wanted to inspired by Mr Bowie. If this was the very first thing you'd EVER sewn, you were just as welcome as a sewist with decades of costume-making skills. A skirt in a fabric similar to a Bowie look, a shirt or a jumpsuit, a tie, a bag or a dress, you could have made a full suit if you wanted to....unfortunately we didn't get a full-on Jareth the Goblin King costume this time, ah well.
Do I use need to use decade appropriate patterns (60s/70s/80s/90s/00s)? Nope. We're doing this for fun. It only has to be Bowie inspired....but don't let that stop you finding that perfect 70s jumpsuit pattern and making it out of authentic 70's curtains if you really want to.What do I do once I'm done? Take some photos, post about it on your blog (if you have one) and send me an email with a link and a photo or two (or more) so I can tell the world about it and where they can find more pics and details if you want me too.

For those of you who like to post plans, progress pics and your completed projects on Flickr (and join in chats and discussions) I've set up Bowie Sew Along Flickr group.
Joining the group isn't compulsory, it's just another bit of fun, but if it's a new thing to you, the wonderful Steph of Sewing CAKE wrote this guide to setting up a Flickr account and joining a group.

The 'A Daily Bit of Bowie' posts:
Each day during the sew along, I posted a Bowie video, or piece of a documentary, or interview, appearances in movies, use of his music by others etc to inspire and/or amuse us all...here's the archive of Daily Bits of Bowie:
