It's that time of year when the world falls in love I scour the stores for the ugliest looking Christmas ornaments.
In 2011, I posted them on my tumblr account with a round-up here. In case you missed their exquisite ugliness, here's the best of the worst:
Last Christmas I gave you my heart I was sewing 67 garments in 52 weeks with the Sew Weekly so was posting pics of the decorations, or as they call them here in the USA 'ornaments' on my Instagram and FORGOT to do a final round-up!
So here's the 25 ugliest I found in 2012....it was a good year (or bad one, whichever way you see it). If you really want to see them in all their 'glory', click any pic for an enlarged version:
Of which I think the ugliest and most perplexing ornament of all award had to go to this 'elegant' cow out on the town:
Though the scary felted matryoshkas came a close second:
I WILL remember to do a round-up of the ugliest Christmas tree decs/ornaments I find this year on Boxing Day (26th December for non-Brits), but if you want to see my daily find, I'm posting one a day on my Instagram if you need a daily fix of "what the....?" and "why??!!" (You can also see what the Devynes get up to in the run-up to our favourite time of the year Christmas there).
.....we may have an early winner, from 3rd December, this 'beauty':
Ohhhhh if only I had the money to buy me a tree full of ugly decs.... :)
PS. I'm rather amused that I gave my website a makeover about a month ago and one of the 4 colours in my new colour-scheme and my blog post sign-off signature is this and is close enough to the Pantone colour of 2014 Radiant Orchid for me to kid myself I'm soooooo on-trend :) I shall be happily making lots of clothes featuring Radiant Orchid and if you could see the swatches on the wall of my Sewing Lair right now (I'm too lazy to go and take a pic) it might even be the colour of a feature wall in the future! So flipping on-trend.
